Snaffle Love Island Best Worst Dates T&Cs

Information on how to enter the promotion forms part of these Terms and Conditions of entry. Participation in the competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

A.     Definitions & Terms

For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions:

“Eligible Participant” means a person who;

(a)     is an Australian resident living in Australia during the Promotion Period;

(b)    submits their best or worst date story within the Promotion Period by direct message through the online social media platform, Instagram;

(c)     at least eighteen (18) years of age at the date of the public poll; and,

(d)    is not an Excluded Participant.

“Excluded Participant” means:

(a)     persons under the age of 18 years as at the date of the public poll; or

(b)    the employees of the Promoter and employees of agents of the Promoter, including their immediate families;

“Participant (entrant)” means an Eligible Participant.

“Program” means the television program broadcast by Nine and produced by ITV Studios Australia, Love Island Australia.

“Promoter” means Walker Stores Pty Ltd trading as Snaffle ACN 007 973 962 of 33-37 Port Wakefield Road, Gepps Cross SA 5094, 1800 762 335.  Australian Credit Licence 393023.

“Promotion” means the chance to win one weekly prize of a Samsung Galaxy A72 that were used by the contestants of the Program over six weeks and one of two major prizes which will include the chance to meet with two of the contestants from the Program via a 15-minute video conference within the three weeks directly after the finale of the Program and a voucher to the value of $250 to use at Walk-In (www.walk-in.com.au) and a voucher to the value of $150 to use at Oysters by East 33 (www.east33.sydney).

B.     Promotion

1.     The Promotion will commence on 4.00pm AEDT 11 October 2021 and close at 4.00pm AEDT on 26 November 2021 (“Promotion Period”).

2.     During the Promotion Period, entrants are to submit their best or worst date story by direct message through the online social media platform, Instagram. Each Monday from the commencement of the Promotion Period, five of the stories as judged by the Promoter’s chosen judges at their absolute discretion will be entered into a public poll held on the social media platform, Instagram and the story that obtains the most votes as voted by the public will be declared the weekly prize winner and receive the weekly prize at a time after the end of the Promotion Period. At the end of the Promotion Period, the six weekly winners will be entered into the major prize public poll held on the social media platform, Instagram and the two stories that obtain the most votes as voted by the public will be declared the major prize winners and receive the major prize at a time after the end of the Promotion Period. The total prize pool will be approximately $2,001.

C.       Draws and Notifications.

3.        For the weekly prize, the five best/worst date stories as judged will be entered into the weekly public poll and notified by direct message through the social media platform, Instagram. The entrant with the most votes as voted by the public by the close of the public poll will be declared the weekly winner and will be notified by direct message through the social media platform, Instagram, within 2 days; and, within 7 days of the close of the public poll, the result will be published on the Promoter’s website: https://www.snaffle.com.au/. For the major prize, the six winners of the weekly prize will entered into a public poll and the two entrants with the most votes as voted by the public by the close of the public poll will be declared the major prize winners and will be notified by direct message through the social media platform, Instagram, within 2 days; and, within 7 days of the close of the public poll, the result will be published on the Promoter’s website: https://www.snaffle.com.au/.

4.          The date and time of the public polls will be:

Weekly Prize 1: Poll will open 4.00PM (AEDT), Monday 18 October 2021 and close 4.00PM (AEDT), Tuesday 19 October 2021.

Weekly Prize 2: Poll will open 4.00PM (AEDT), Monday 25 October 2021 and close 4.00PM (AEDT), Tuesday 26 October 2021.

Weekly Prize 3: Poll will open 4.00PM (AEDT), Monday 1 November 2021 and close 4.00PM (AEDT), Tuesday 2 November 2021.

Weekly Prize 4: Poll will open 4.00PM (AEDT), Monday 8 November 2021 and close 4.00PM (AEDT), Tuesday 9 November 2021.

Weekly Prize 5: Poll will open 4.00PM (AEDT), Monday 15 November 2021 and close 4.00PM (AEDT), Tuesday 16 November 2021.

Weekly Prize 6: Poll will open 4.00PM (AEDT), Monday 22 November 2021 and close 4.00PM (AEDT), Tuesday 23 November 2021.

Major Prize: Poll will open 4.00PM (AEDT), Thursday 25 November 2021 and close 4.00PM (AEDT), Friday 26 November 2021.

5.         The Promoter reserves the right to declare any winner of the weekly or major prizes excluded in the event of an entrant:

(a)           being unable to satisfy these Terms and Conditions; or

(b)          declared an Excluded Participant;

(c)           forfeiting or not claiming a prize within seven days of the close of the public poll.

6.         If clause 5 applies, then the entrant with the next most votes in the public poll will be declared the winner and will be notified by direct message through the social media platform, Instagram  within 2 business days; and, within 7 days, the result will be published on the Promoter’s website: https://www.snaffle.com.au/; and, if clause 5 applies to the winners with the next most votes, the Promoter reserves the right to declare that the poll had failed, and no further winners will be made.

E.      General Conditions

7.              The total prize value for the Promotion, at the date of publication of these Terms and Conditions is up to $2,001. If the Prize is subject to any tax, a winner is liable for payment of such tax. Independent financial advice should be sought.

8.              All prizes cannot be exchanged, transferred, redeemed for credit against credit contracts and is not transferrable. No cash or other prize substitution is permitted except at the Promoter’s discretion. As the prizes are in second-hand condition, these may come with slight damage, scuffs, marks, or scratches. Should the goods be in an inoperable condition, a substitute will be sourced and supplied by the Promoter. An assessment of the electrical goods will not be completed by a qualified technician before the prizes will be released to the winner and it is recommended that the winner of these prizes obtain an appropriate inspection by a qualified technician at their own expense before use. Electrical goods will be issued with a three-month warranty and should the goods fail to operate in accordance with manufacturers specifications during this time the winner is to contact the Promoter.

9.             The Promoter does not have any obligation to continue with the Promotion past the Promotion Period.

10.           The name, suburb and state of the winners may be used for promotional purposes by the Promoter, unless a winner otherwise notifies the Promoter at the time of accepting their prize that they are opposing the publication.

11.           The Promoter warrants that the prize details are correct at the time of publication of these Terms and Conditions.

12.           The Promoter will not be responsible for prizes that are delayed, lost in transit or misdirected mail or any other communication.

13.           Nine will require the winners of the major prizes to agree to certain terms and conditions and confidentiality conditions before the video conference with the contestants of the Program may proceed. Should the winner not agree to these terms and conditions and confidentiality conditions, the video conference with the contestants of the Program will not proceed and the Promoter will not provide a substitute prize.

14.           To the extent permissible by law, Promotion entrants and winners release the Promoter, its directors, employees and agents from any causes of action, loss, liability, damage, expense (including any claim for legal expenses), cost or charge sustained or in any way incurred, by such entrants or winners as a result of:

(a)   any failure or delay by the Promoter, its directors, employees or agents which is due to an act of God, riots, acts of terrorism, storms, pandemic, fire, any labour or industrial dispute, any strike, and other acts which are not reasonably within the control of the Promoter, its directors, employees of agents; or

(b)  any failure by computer hardware or software to function correctly in relation to all calculations and functions in the electronic drawing (if any) of winners; or

(c)   any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered in connection with the Promotion or the prize/s.

15.          In the event of any dispute, the decision of the Promoter is final, and no correspondence will be entered into, subject to relevant State legislation.

F.            Privacy Notice

18.           During the course of the Promotion, the Promoter may collect personal information in relation to entrants and winners.

19.          The personal information which may be collected by the Promoter includes the names and addresses, and in the case of winners, photographs as well.

20.           The personal information collected by the Promoter is collected for the purpose of running the Promotion, enabling the Promoter to publish the results of the Promotion, to publicise the Promotion, and to distribute prizes to winners.  Personal information will not be used for any other purpose but for the purpose it is declared to have been collected for and in accordance with the Promoter’s privacy policy.
